Expect the Unexpected
Submitted through G. San Diego

The man whispered,
"God, speak to me"
and a meadowlark sang.

But, the man did not hear.

So the man yelled,
"God, speak to me"
and the thunder rolled across the sky.

But, the man did not listen.

The man looked around and said,
"God let me see you."
And a star shined brightly.

But the man did not see.

And, the man shouted,
"God show me a miracle."
And, a life was born.!

But, the man did not notice.

So, the man cried out in despair,
"Touch me God, and let me know you are here."

  My Prayer Box Newsletter

My Prayer Box newsletter is published weekly and contains the readings for that Sunday. It has reflections, stories and reader contributions, prayers and news relevant to living a proud Catholic life.

The reader contributions include announcements, interesting articles, pictures and greetings. We also solicit news regarding activities and events your parishes that you might useful for others.

The newsletter has over 1000 subscribers.

  Why Is This Important?
Today’s Gospel underscores that the ways of the Lord are mysterious and unexpected.

Simply put, you will never know when we will be called so we have to be ready. This sounds serious and dramatic, doesn’t it? Indeed, but just think of what would happen if we are not watchful, or at least not working towards being watchful. We’ll miss everything.

So, what do we do?

Start by being thankful to God and to those around us.

Listen with open mind and heart.

Live a life of devotion.

Love yourself as you love others.

Above all, pray and be watchful.

Image IS NOT everything. Life is not a series of sound bytes and there is no re-play button. However, there is forgiveness, reconciliation and growth that come with them.
