So, you thought that Catholic Music is all
drab, dreary and boring? Well "Creed" written
by Rich Mullins, who was preparing for
conversion to the
Catholic faith before his untimely death
in 1997, is proof of that Catholic inspired
music does not have to put you to sleep.
Mullins' music was steeped in Catholicism, and
this song, Creed is just one of the defining
songs of his coming at peace with his
conversion.
Rich Mullins saw his music as a means to pay
his bills. He spent the last years of his life
on a Navajo reservation teaching music to
children. Father McGuinness had been assisting
Mullins in his investigation of the Catholic
faith.
Rich Mullins also wrote the veritable anthem
of the contemporary Christian music circles,
