Luminous Mystery On the Rosary For Thursday Devotion
To begin your devotion for the Luminous Mystery, while holding the crucifix of the rosary make
The Sign of the Cross.
In the name of the Father,
And of the Son,
And of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
On the crucifix of the rosary recite
The Apostle’s Creed.
I believe in God,
The Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ,
His only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by
The power of the Holy Spirit
And born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
And is seated
At the right hand of the Father.
He will come again
To judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The Holy Catholic Church,
The communion of Saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body
And life everlasting.
Amen.
On the first large bead of the rosary recite
The Our Father.
Our Father in heaven,
Holy be your name,
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today
Our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
As we forgive those
Who sin against us.
Do not bring us to the test
But deliver us from evil.
Amen.
On each of the three small beads of the rosary, for an increase of faith, hope and charity recite
The Hail Mary.
Hail Mary,
Full of grace!
The Lord is with you.
Blessed are you
Among women
And blessed is the fruit
Of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour
Of our death.
Amen.
On the next bead of the rosary after the third Hail Mary recite
The Glory Be
Glory be to the Father,
And to the Son,
And to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning
Is now and ever shall be
World without end.
Amen.
Then recite
The Fatima Prayer
O my Jesus,
Forgive us our sins,
Save us from the fires of hell
And bring all souls into heaven,
Especially those who most need
Your divine mercy.

Read
The Gospel Of Matthew 3:13-17
13Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him.
14John tried to prevent him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and yet you are coming to me?"
15Jesus said to him in reply, "Allow it now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he allowed him.
16After Jesus was baptized, he came up from the water and behold, the heavens were opened (for him), and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove (and) coming upon him.
17And a voice came from the heavens, saying, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."

Read
The Gospel Of John 2:1-12
1On the third day there was a wedding in Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. 2Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding. 3When the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They have no wine."
4(And) Jesus said to her, "Woman, how does your concern affect me? My hour has not yet come."
5His mother said to the servers, "Do whatever he tells you."
6Now there were six stone water jars there for Jewish ceremonial washings, each holding twenty to thirty gallons.
7Jesus told them, "Fill the jars with water." So they filled them to the brim.
8Then he told them, "Draw some out now and take it to the headwaiter." So they took it.
9And when the headwaiter tasted the water that had become wine, without knowing where it came from (although the servers who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom 10and said to him, "Everyone serves good wine first, and then when people have drunk freely, an inferior one; but you have kept the good wine until now."
11Jesus did this as the beginning of his signs in Cana in Galilee and so revealed his glory, and his disciples began to believe in him. 12After this, he and his mother, (his) brothers, and his disciples went down to Capernaum and stayed there only a few days.

Read
The Gospel Of Mark 1:14-15
14After John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God:
15"This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."
The Gospel Of Mark 2:3-13
3They came bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men.
4Unable to get near Jesus because of the crowd, they opened up the roof above him. After they had broken through, they let down the mat on which the paralytic was lying.
5When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Child, your sins are forgiven."
6Now some of the scribes were sitting there asking themselves, 7"Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming. Who but God alone can forgive sins?"
8Jesus immediately knew in his mind what they were thinking to themselves, so he said, "Why are you thinking such things in your hearts?
9Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Rise, pick up your mat and walk'?
10But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority to forgive sins on earth"—11 he said to the paralytic, "I say to you, rise, pick up your mat, and go home."
12He rose, picked up his mat at once, and went away in the sight of everyone. They were all astounded and glorified God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this."
13Once again he went out along the sea. All the crowd came to him and he taught them.
The Gospel Of Luke 7:47-48
47So I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven; hence, she has shown great love. But the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little."
48He said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."
The Gospel Of John 20:22-23
2222And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit.
2323Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained."

Read
The Gospel Of Luke 9:28-35
28About eight days after he said this, he took Peter, John, and James and went up the mountain to pray.
29While he was praying his face changed in appearance and his clothing became dazzling white.
30And behold, two men were conversing with him, Moses and Elijah, 31who appeared in glory and spoke of his exodus that he was going to accomplish in Jerusalem.
32Peter and his companions had been overcome by sleep, but becoming fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him.
33As they were about to part from him, Peter said to Jesus, "Master, it is good that we are here; let us make three tents, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." But he did not know what he was saying.
34While he was still speaking, a cloud came and cast a shadow over them, and they became frightened when they entered the cloud.
35Then from the cloud came a voice that said, "This is my chosen Son; listen to him."

15He said to them, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer, 16for, I tell you, I shall not eat it (again) until there is fulfillment in the kingdom of God."
17Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and said, "Take this and share it among yourselves; 18for I tell you (that) from this time on I shall not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes."
19Then he took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me."
20And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you.

Prayers to conclude the Luminous Mystery:
Hail Holy Queen
Hail Holy Queen,
Mother of mercy;
Hail our life,
Our sweetness,
And our hope!
To you do we cry
Poor banished children of Eve,
To you do we send up our sighs,
Mourning and weeping
In this valley of tears.
Turn then,
O most gracious Advocate,
Your eyes of mercy toward us,
And after this exile,
Show us the blessed fruit
Of your womb, Jesus!
O clement, O loving,
O sweet Virgin Mary!
