God
created angels without our shortcomings and so they can
act for and represent God to us, bridging the gap
between God in heaven and the shortcomings of people on
earth.
"You have made the Lord your defender,
the Most High your
protector, and so no
disaster will strike you, no violence
will come near your home.
God
will put His angels in charge of you to protect you
wherever you go. They will hold you up with their
hands to keep you from hurting your feet on stones."
Psalm 91: 10-12
The
guardian angels guide us to good thoughts, works and
words, and to preserve us from evil. Since the 17th
century the Church has celebrated a feast honoring
them in October.
